2021 Idilico Tempranillo
Our 2021 Tempranillo comes fromvarious clones planted at Dineen Vineyards(25%-Yakima Valley)and Upland Vineyard (64%-Snipes Mountain). These particular lots of Tempranillo exhibit the desired reductive notes that characterized this bottling and is more akin to the style in the Rioja region of Spain. We also added 9% Graciano and 2% Monastrell for a bit of enhanced aromatics and acidity.
Tempranillo is the king of the Spanish red grapes. Enjoy aromas and flavors of red fruit, dried herbs and leather in this Rioja-style wine. Salud!

Enjoy the aromas of leather, forest floor and balsamic notes wrapped around a core of red fruit. Flavor profiles include fresh dried herbs, sweet spice and red current. On the palate the wine is medium bodied with juicy mouthfeel, soft tannin, and a lingering finish.
In 2021 we added a 9% proportion of Upland Vineyard Graciano as well as 2% Monastrell for a bit of enhanced aromatics and acidity. The must was fermented on skins for two weeks and was barrel aged for 19 months in mostly neutral French oakwith a1 10% sputtering of American oak to anchor the style.The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered in July 2023.
Pairing Suggestions - mushroom risotto, barbecued beef brisket, and roasted lamb.
Drinking Window - enjoy now! But will continue to age well for the next 7-10 years.

Handsomely dense and saturated, this generous, velvety wine goes deep in balsam, cedar and vanilla aromas before rich, plummy fruit flavors fill the palate. Tempting to drink now, but will certainly age well for a few years.
